Chris Head is the Principal of Chris Head & Associates, a small consultancy that specialises in providing high-level strategic advice on the commercial, contractual, and regulatory aspects of Water Resources management and Hydropower.

His main areas of activity are in private hydropower, the financing and structuring of Public-Private partnerships, risk allocation, concession arrangements and power trading.  He serves a wide range of international clients including governments, state utility companies, international funding agencies, private financing institutions and developers.  His recent assignments have included advising on:

Auction of the concession for the 3,150 MW Santo Antônio hydropower project, Brazil.

Investments in the hydropower sector, Romania.

Financing of the Eastern Nile Multipurpose Project, Ethiopia.

Power trading from the Cahora Bassa project, Mozambique.

Financing of the Rusumo Falls Hydro Project, Central Africa.

Chris has over 30 years international experience, working on the planning and implementation of projects in more than 25 countries.  From this wide background he is able to offer an expertise that bridges the engineering, economic and legal issues specifically related to the development and management of hydropower and water resources infrastructure.
