Established track record of providing high level advisory services to governments, utilities and the private sector.
Has worked for most of the main multilateral development agencies including ADB, EBRD, UNDP and World Bank.
Fifteen years at Partner-Director level in an international firm of Consulting Engineers.
Working experience in more than 25 countries.
Four years in Kenya establishing one of the first river basin authorities in Africa for integrated water resources planning.
Has managed multi-disciplinary teams at all stages of the project cycle, from inception studies through to commissioning.
Wide experience on the planning, optimisation and design of projects ranging in value up to USD 1 billion.
Has worked in the role of Lenders' Engineer, and carried out project evaluation, monitoring and post-investment appraisals.
Direct working experience of alternative types of procurement contract for the construction of hydropower projects.
Author of the Financing of Private Hydropower Projects, published in 2000.
Appointed by World Bank to conduct stakeholder consultation on private participation in the financing of multipurpose projects.
Appointed by ADB to resolve problems relating to the sale of power from a privatised hydropower utility in China.
Appointed by UNDP as Business Strategy Advisor to the Government of Laos on the 1,000MW Nam Theun 2 project.
Technical advisor to a renewable energy start-up company.
Appointed by EBRD to advise on hydropower aspects of power privatisation in FYR Macedonia
Institutional specialist within a team working on the restructuring of water resources management in Zambia.
Technical advisor to the Tribunal of Inquiry investigating the failure of a major public water supply in the United Kingdom.
Four years as a full-time lecturer on the academic staff of a leading university in the UK, specialising in water resources engineering.
